Introduction to Ghost Pre Workout
Your body has more potential than you can possibly imagine. Many successful bodybuilders will tell you that they never knew that their bodies can achieve the sort of results they ended up with. Yet after all the hard work and various supplementations, they ended up with incredible outcomes that were beyond their wildest imaginations.
Here is the thing about bodybuilding. Everyone’s body has a certain ability that enables them to build muscles and shred fat to a particular point. This point varies from one athlete to the next and that’s why you will see certain weightlifters get better or faster results than others.
To go beyond your natural limitations, you need an extra boost. This is where things start to get a bit complicated. That’s simply because you’ll have to rely on performance-enhancing substances and this is where pre-workout supplements come in. The problem is that getting the right supplement has always been so evasive.
A pre-workout supplement is supposed to make your life in the gym more effortless. These supplements need to supply you with explosive power that will enable you to push beyond your typical limits for better and faster results. They are also supposed to keep you in the gym for longer periods by stretching your endurance levels to new heights you never thought possible.
Ghost Legend Pre Workout is marketed as one of the best pre-workout supplements in the market. The manufacturer, Ghost, claims that the supplement is tailored to deliver “legendary” pumps but is there any trace of truth is such sentiments? We went out to investigate the science behind the supplement to determine just how well it matches up to all the claims put up by its manufacturer.
Ghost Legend Overview
Ghost Legend is a pre-workout supplement that claims to enhance different aspects of bodybuilding. First, the supplement is supposed to increase the endurance levels that can help you get longer workout sessions. It purports to achieve this by preventing the buildup of lactic acid in your muscles. With less lactic acid in the muscles, you will manage to sustain productive workouts for an extended period.
Ghost Legend also improves the flow of blood around the muscles. This results in visible pumps. That kind of thing is known to motivate a lot of bodybuilders out there. It also makes up for excellent selfies if you are that type of a bodybuilder. Other than all that, excellent muscle pumps should boost muscle growth significantly.
Energy is another crucial aspect that determines how productive your workout sessions get to be. Ghost have also tried to include some ingredients that’ll help to spike up your energy levels when stepping into the gym. With more energy, you should see your growth in the gym happen more drastically for faster results.
Another very crucial thing that every bodybuilder need is focus. You could have all the endurance, pumps and energy you need but if your brain is not invested in the workouts then your fitness journey is bound to suffer a major blow. That’s why pre-workout supplement manufacturers always try to include ingredients that can increase your mental focus. This should keep your mind focused on the task at hand. The combination of a focused brain and a supporting body will not just make your workouts more fruitful but also fun.
Finally, Ghost Legend intends to improve your body’s recovery. So many people lose a lot of time giving their sore muscles and aching bodies some time to recover. Imagine the results that you could actually accomplish if you managed to reduce your recovery process and invest the time on extra workout sessions without compromising on your health!
Ghost Legend Ingredients
So, how is Ghost Legend supposed to achieve all the claimed benefits? Is the formula really as effective as the Ghost claims?
After so much research, I can tell you from right away that the supplement works but there is nothing special in it. In simple terms, I would tell you that you shouldn’t expect wild performances after using this supplement but you will experience notable changes in your workouts. This is achieved thanks to the presence of the following ingredients:
L-Citrulline is a non-essential amino acid that is commonly found in foods such as dark chocolate, garlic, garbanzo beans, and red meat. Once in your system, it will spike the levels of nitric oxide which will then lead to the vasodilation of blood vessels. This essentially means that your blood vessels will open up allowing for the flow of more blood. Therefore, your muscle tissues and other parts of the body will experience an increase in the supply of oxygen and other essential nutrients. This will drastically improve their growth, endurance, and recovery.
While we appreciate and value the presence of L-citrulline and the role it is supposed to play, we have serious concerns with the dosages used here. You see, for any ingredient to be really effective, it has to be supplied in adequate doses. At 4,000mg, the L-citrulline available here is a lot less than what you will find in some of the best Pre Workout supplements in the market (6000 mg). Perhaps this is one of the reasons why Ghost Legend doesn’t perform very well when compared to other competing products.
Beta Alanine (2,000mg)
Did you know that all the muscle fatigue and some of the pain that usually cuts your workouts shorts is usually due to the accumulation of lactic acid? Yes, after a few hours or even minutes of working out, lactic acids tend to accumulate in your muscles resulting in muscle fatigue. Beta Alanine is the ingredient included to deal with this issue. It prevents the buildup of lactic acid thus buying you time for some more reps.
Again, just like with L-citrulline, we also had an issue with the Beta Alanine included here with regards to the doses used. The 2,000 mg included here is barely enough to make as big an impact as most bodybuilders desire. You’ll still feel its presence but it won’t be anything out of the ordinary.
Caffeine Anhydrous (165mg)
Caffeine is an incredible stimulant with excellent energizing effects. It is also used to boost focus and other cognitive functions.
Ghost Legend has a total of 215mg of this stimulant i.e. 165mg of caffeine anhydrous and 50mg of caffeine malate. This is not as much as you would commonly find in other pre-workout supplements but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
And why is that? Well, as a stimulant, too much of caffeine can result in severe adverse reactions that can make your life unbearable. Talk of jitters, headaches, irritability and many other side effects.
Another issue arising from the presence of this stimulant is the dosage limitation it sets. What does this mean? There is only 4000mg of L-Citrulline (a very useful ingredient) in each serving. Most people would think that they can increase the levels of this non-essential amino acid for better results by simply increasing the dosages of Ghost Legend they are using. What they don’t realize is that by doing so they will also end up consuming more caffeine which opens the door to endless adverse reactions.
Alpha-Glyceryl Phosphoryl Choline (Alpha-GPC)
Alpha GPC is said to do a great job in increasing power, mental focus and strength levels. Unfortunately, the science behind it is very contradictive. While some reports suggest that it is actually useful, others have ruled it ineffective. It’s therefore very difficult to determine just how useful it is in any supplement.
In one study which hinted to a possibility of it being effective in achieving the said benefits, the subjects were supplemented with at least 600mg of it daily. When you compare this to the 150mg contained here, it’s highly unlikely that the users will feel its impact even if it was to be effective.
Other Ingredients contained in Ghost Legend include:
- Agmatine Sulfate (500mg)
- Olive Leaf extract (50mg)
- Norvaline (100mg)
- NADH 10% (2.5mg)
- Theobromine (50mg)
- Taurine (1,00mg)
- Rhodiola Rosea Root (50mg)
Side Effects of Ghost Legend
Are there any side effects that you need to prepare for? The good news is that the risk for side effects when using Ghost Legend is low. The bad news is that the risk and severity of the adverse reactions increase with the increase in daily doses and one’s sensitivity to caffeine. That’s because a big majority of the potential side effects here are related to caffeine while most of the others might be due to one’s allergic reactions to the ingredients used.
With that said, here are some of the side effects reported by most Ghost Legend users:
- Increased heart rate
- Stomach upset
Mix 1-2 scoops of Ghost Legend with 6-8 ounces of water and take it just before training.
Where Can I buy Ghost Legend?
Ghost Legend is available on the Ghost Lifestyle website, HP nutrition, Luckyvitamin, and GNC. A 30-servings supply usually retails at around $44.99.
Ghost Legend is an okay pre-workout supplement that will deliver decent results but nothing special. The presence of caffeine should also give you a reason to keep a close eye on the doses you are using. With that in mind, I believe that Ghost Legend can help you out but it is not really as special as the Ghost marketers paint it out to be.
